No true New Yorker would cheer for Boston. As a Yankee fan if it were the other way around and the Mets were playing Boston I would cheer for New York. That's how we all should think.

Yes I would!!!!! I would root for New York in any situation. I would be disappointed that it wasn't the Yankees, but I would definitely root for the Mets if it were the other way around because they are NY too.

Rooting for your city does not change which team you love, but when reality sets in and you realize your team will not be in it then it's time to root for your city so that then your city still has a chance to be honored and a winner. We are die hard Yankee fans in my family, but everyone will put their pride aside and stand up for New York if that is the case.
