Amazing Wedding Cakes

ughhh always makes me want to feast on cake! I don't know how these people don't shove cake in their mouths every waking second!

they did a dj's turntable and switchboard before where the records actually spun... out of control! sooo amazing! I bet their cakes taste as good as they look! YUM!

its the opposite for me. when i see them man handling the cake for HOURS its unappetizing to me ha ha!

i think it like, has an opposite effect when you work around a specific food... they are probably so sick of cake they never want to eat it! i had a friend that worked in a pizza parlor and she never wanted to eat pizza since she was around it all the time lol... wish i had that problem!!

I soooooo agree.

I don't get, with some of the more elaborate cakes, how when they need days to decorate the cake, how it still tastes good by the time people eat it? How does it not go stale?

I don't get, with some of the more elaborate cakes, how when they need days to decorate the cake, how it still tastes good by the time people eat it? How does it not go stale?

They refrigerate it which might also have some sort of hydration system??? Just a guess. Like I know with bread thats a little hard, you just put it in the microwave with a cup of water and its soft again.

It's that reason precisely that is making my FH and I get a fake cake, they'll decorate Styrofoam beautifully and then the guest will just get a slice of sheet cake that was freshly baked that morning... We also want to make sure the outside of our cake is white chocolate ganache and that is super hard to decorate so the guests will still have the amazing flavor without it being 4+ days old...

Also, the cake is sitting out for at least 4 hours before it's cut... I'd feel so bad feeding the guest warm cake lol
