america west bites the big one

We used our FF miles to upgrade to first class, which we do all the time, on our way to Vegas Friday morning. This time there was no hot towel and a cold meal. Last time, they served strawberries and cream with steak and eggs. This time was cold cereal with nasty fruit. I personally didn't care because I am just thrilled to be in more comfortable seats.

On the flight home, first class was booked. We flew coach. I hate coach. The flight was delayed because the flight before us took our plane because their had severe electrical problems and shouldn't fly. You guessed it............we got their plane! The lights flickered the whole flight. We hit major turbulence over the Rockies in the dark. Finally we land at JFK and get stuck on the runway for 1.5 hours because the terminal is having ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS!

I will never fly with them again. Jet Blue Here I come!

Sorry about the awful flight home.

We had a bad America West experience and would never willingly fly them again.

In all honesty, I have had a bad something or other with most of the major airlines so I am in no position to swear off one airline for good.

We had a horrible time with America West. It's like their pilots are trained on video games. Our flight to Vegas was uncomfortable and awful, and from LA-Vegas on our connection to NY, we were delayed almost 3 hours, and the pilot overshot the landing, and wobbled his entire way back in. People were getting sick on the plane!

Never again!

I am sorry that you had a bad experience. When we went to Vegas we flew National and disgusting does not even begin to describe it!!! I wrote them a letter called and you know what they sent me- 2 vouches for $150 each. Thanks for nothing because I was not going to go back on their plane EVER!!!

But I would definitely write a letter to them Mo, especially if you have FF with American.

Other than that how was Vegas?

speaking as a former airline employee...this osn't AW's fault

and NEVER land in LGA on a late sunday night...they almost never have enough gates...and planes often sit on the runway waiting for a spot

I will never fly them either... we flew them to Vegas as well and they were horrible! I got stuck in a seat for 5 hours that didn't recline.. i thought I would cry.

We had a bad America West experience, too....oddly enough, on a trip to Vegas (we lived in CA, tho) The bastards cancelled our flight and sent us to a whole different airline to try and beg for a seat! Then they lost our baggage!

Conversely, JetBlue is a phenomenal organization to deal with when it comes to customer service. We have continually had amazing experiences with them and their people are just angels! I will definitely give them my business again without hesitation!
