American Idol Triplets...Fat??? I didn't think so!

What was up with that? I felt so bad for the sister who was crying. I thought it was pretty crappy of ther sis to embarrass her on TV!

Did anyone think they looked THAT bad? Simon is so shallow someimes.

Ever notice he never tells the men they need to lose weight?

I didn't see the show, but honestly, if they told some girl she ought to do voice overs, that doesn't sound so bad!

What people don't realize is the amount of money people make doing voice overs. It's obscene, really. And SO easy - if you get a job, you walk in sit down, record your piece into a microphone, and walk out a few hundred dollars richer!

Barry Carl, who used to be the Bass in Rockapella (where in the world is carmen sandiego), is now the voice of Tony Tiger for the Frosted Flakes commercials. He supports his family on that. Seriously.

I always thought that would be a cool job. Voice overs in gernal, not Tony the Tiger, per se.

Back in the first season, Simon did tell Joshua Gracin he needed to lose weight. SOmetimes peopel can jsut carry it better than others, and Simon is just looking at their total image, from a marketing perspective.

I thought Simon's comment about the Triplets was totally uncalled for. IMO, the triplets were definitely not skinny, they were overweight, yes, but not so much so that he was justified in calling them 'fat' on national television. (Not that it's okay to do that to a truly obese person either)

And YES -THANK YOU - Randy is becoming more and more blatantly favoring of mediocre Black auditioners over good (not necessarily great) non-Black auditioners. It's really dissappointing.

i didnt think so either....i think that randy,paula, and simon are being very hard and very rude to alot of people this year.....its not like it used to be and for me to say that is bad because i love american idol...

i'm sure doing voice-overs is a great job, but when you're 16 and you think you're a really good singer it might not matter to you. plus her voice was really high-pitched and i think i remember them saying something about her being able to do rat voices, though that may have been after she left. i'm just saying from a 16 year old perspective that must have been tough to hear. why can't they just so 'no thanks' and let people keep their dignity?

That's a very good point.

Nevertheless, if they were polite, would half the people who watch still watch?

I hated it when the girl with scratchs all over her arms, said she got her outfit in a dark dressing room and they were making fun of her

Even though they can be all be very rude in their comments- what Rachel said is true - would half the people be watching if they just said - yes or no? People watch this show for entertainment value and to see some of the shocking comments to the horrible singers. i won't lie - I do...

Like I said before .. Ruben was a 'big teddy bear' .. and now the girls are being called elephants????

Kimberly Locke had her weight made into an issue .. I mean .. seriously .. they'll harass Kimberly Locke about her weight .. who absolutely is not in the same realm as Ruben in terms of weight

.. but OH NO ..

dear, sweet, teddy bear Ruben .. who ended up being the Idol in the very same group .. with Clay 2nd & Kimberly 3rd .. NO .. it's okay that Ruben was & still is HUGE.


Well .. that just really ticks me off .. BIG TIME!

Its horrible that they feel that they have to be really nasty to boost ratings. I never remember the judges (even Simon) being as horrid as they are this season!

Yes that's true- that's why Simon did make an issue of Josh's weight the first season, he wasn't big enough to be 'big guy', but too heavy to be 'buff guy'

I didn't remeber KImberly's weight being discussed.
I just remeber he liked her hair better straightened.

Not for nothing, but it's TV. I think the show is disgusting in more ways than one. Especially the fact that people who KNOW how to sing get told to go sing on Broadway. But like I said, it's TV, they'll say anything for the shock so people will come back to watch. I mean, I heard a commercial that they extended the audition portion of the show this time around because, and I qupte, 'We love to see people make fools of themselves.' It's a sick cycle in this country.

Unfortunately, there are many people out there as you say Rachel who enjoy watching other people make fools of theirselves. Doesn't say much for our society.
