Yup I love Lancaster.... there is so much to do there.... go to LancasterPA.com and they list EVERYTHING that there is to do there. Also stop at the welcoming center its very helpful. When I used to go we would go to Strausburg for the railroad, then shop at the outlets, so many places that are delish to eat.

Ive stayed at the Fulton Steamboat, and the hotel across from and a few across from Dutch Wonderland. Rates are pretty good no matter where you stay.

If you want to learn about the Amish next door to dutch wonderland is an Amish Museum its like $10 bucks to go in and tour. The Amish house is another fun thing to do. I def love going on the steam engine train in Strasburg. I would then make a trip to Hershey before the weekend was over.

oh and def eat at one of the smorgesborgs holy heck they are delish. and there is a bakery in bird-in-hand that makes the best whopppie pies

FH's family is OBSESSED with Lancaster and go there at least twice a year. We are actually going this summer... these are the things you must do!!

Hotels:

Lancaster Host- pet friendly, really nice and big, they have a sand volleyball court outside, shuffleboard, a pool and an outdoor bar

Bird in Hand Hotel: a nice pool and very family friendly

Shopping:

Kitchen Kettle Village is really cool, they have lots of shops were you can taste food, and a vera bradley store!

Farmer's Market: SO much to buy and eat!

Food:

SHADY MAPLE! the best buffet EVER... you will not be disappointed... it's huge and there's a huge store downstairs to go shopping

Miller's has a good buffet too, fun atmosphere

hmm if I think of anything else I will let you know! lol

My family and I go at least twice a year. I would have to say the cheapest hotel there is Quality Inn. It's not the nicest but if your only staying for one night then it's okay. They have a bar downstairs and I believe when we went it was $86 a night.

Bird in Hand is a good market and if your going on a Friday I highly reccommend the Green Dragon Market. It's an indoor/outdoor flea market.

If you like raising bread pick up a loaf in 1 of the farmers market as well.

Kitchen Kettle is also another place you can try, they give you horse & buggy rides.

In all the years I've been going there I just heard about Shady Maple a few months ago. One of the Public Safety Officers at my job was telling me about this place.

Can't wait to try it out this summer when I go!

We took a hot air balloon ride there a few years ago. It was an AMAZING experience.

We stayed at the After Eight B&B. The room was excellent. They served so much at breakfast that we didn't need to eat again til dinner. And they had snacks and beverages available all day.
