Amityville Horror... I mean C'mon Already!

why are they STILL promoting it as 'based on a true story' when the Lutz family ADMITTED it was all a hoex?!?!
i know that the DeFeo murders were true and all that, but the rest isnt.. so why do they still say its a true story?

I was going to post why the hell are the making a new freaking movie? there is like 50 of them already.

Im not sure though I think something strange went on there. My friends parents lived across the street for 2 weeks and moved out cause strange things happened in their house.

oooo what kinda strange things?!!? I LOVE ghost stories!!!

i knew two people who lived around there too. one guy lived next door.... but only during the murders, not the haunting. (he heard the gunshots i believe)

and another, my old teacher, lived behind them and said that it was all fake. he said teh 'pig' they saw was really this one persons cat who always would freak people out by just all of a sudden BEING there! i dont know too much....

but they did admit it was all a hoex.

plus people have been living there since with no problems

Well they never really talked to much about it. I think it really freaked them out a lot. One thing was similar to what happened in 'the house' according to the movie with the dog barking at the walls. lights and tvs going on by themself.
Nothing like what the movie said (but this was only across the street) I know the luntz family said they made stuff up. But I wonder if anything really did happen.

All I know is the house looks nothing like it use to. And like 6-7 years ago (as kids) we went looking for the house and we stopped on the corner and my cousin and mike got out of the car to go in the video store and ask and all they said was 'do you know where' and the guy was like 'nope'

Then we saw some kids walking down 'the' street and they were like we have no idea.

also, im sure that there was somethign MAJORLY freaky if they only stayed tehre 2 weeks!
(maybe it was some weird burial ground earlier)

I'd be really freaked out if my dogs started barking at the walls. They can sense stuff that we can't. Lights and TVs going on by themselves would freak me out too. I get scared pretty easily though.

i HATE when the dogs bark at walls. thankfully it doesnt happen too often. once not too long ago it did though. one of the girls was growling and barking at the wall and wouldnt pay attention when i called her name.


This ALWAYS happens at my moms house. Jenna & Toby always sense things. i can attest that that house is haunted. very weird things happened to me and in My room (in the basement) and in another room in the house. (first was my sisters, who was allllways saying things that scared her) and now my little brother is in there and sees stuff too. Toby (the big dog) sleeps with him.


Just a few months ago my lilttle brother (hes 5) started to see a little boy!!!!!! (he calls him 'the devil' even though it isnt) he said hes seen him a couple of times.

As easily freaked out as I get, it would take something pretty major to get me to leave a new home. Some weird things happened in my parents' house and as freaked out as I was and as much as I wanted to leave sometimes, I never did.

Yikes...creepy. When my brother was little (before I was born, but my parents have told me), he would sit up his room, striking up a conversation with himself. My parents would ask who he was talking to and he would always point to the corner and say 'the man'

I never heard anything about the lutz family calling it a hoaxs...Are you sure about that.

And to my knowledge the house was NOT knocked down at all...The number of the house was changed. WHen i was in HS a bunch of us looked up old articles and stuff and did find the real house....it IS still there!

I know where the house is....I used to work at the Porsche dealer down the block from it. We used to get all these wierdos coming into the dealership to ask where the house was.....We used to tell them all different places, because I am sure the people that are living there now don't appreciate people driving by just to see what the house looks like.....

I saw the house, and although it doesnt look the same, it wasnt knocked down and rebuilt....I am sure they just changed the exterior look of the house...you know to update it and hide it.

I dont care if the story was true or false about what happened there, I wouldnt buy that house.

Yes I saw a documentary where it was concluded that it was all a hoax. There's a site (i'll try to find it) that went with the show that said it too. Like on Discovery or History channel.

It wasn't knocked down, it was just altered. Different windows, not the 'eye' windows anymore. Address was changed. I found a pic online, i'll have to find that too.

edited--- not positive the LUTZ'S said it was a hoax, but someone involved with them and creating the story did.
