Has anyone been to the actual Amsale salon in NYC? Are the prices cheaper there than in bridal stores which sell all different designers?
one of my friends had her dress made by Amsale. She was very happy with it, though I don't think she got any bargains (it was like $6K).
Did they design one personally for her or did she pick one out from their collection?
I went to Amsale twice. I LOVE it there! Their salon is really nice and quite large. The saleswomen are excellent. I worked with Vasa (sp?) and she was the best! The prices were not bad at all. About the same as if you would buy an amsale dress in a regular salon. It seemed they were all in the price range of a salon like wedding salon in Manhasset or Iman Bridal Couture. Less expensive than vera want and carolina herrera etc.
I believe she put together pieces from the collection into one gown, therefore designing her own. I know they made it particularly for her body, not just ordering a size and then altering.
The prices should be the same there and at the Amsale salon during regular times of the year. But at a trunk show, bridal slaons do discount the gowns by 15-20%.
