Where have you looked already? Maybe if you list where you've been and what your priorities are, we can all help a little more. I know, after looking at a few places, and doing major research online, after being completely frustrated, I chose my venue based on the reviews on this site. It really helped to hear about the food and quality of service. BTW, can't wait to hear which one you pick-I'm sure it will be an amazing day!

Re: Amy

Thanks

Im interested in elegant & fun...
Id be having the ceremony on site

Ive looked at:
Jericho Terrace
East Wind
Chateau La Mer
Majestic Gardens
Watermill
Timberpoint
Been quoted prices and/or have appointments at:
Tall Grass
Lands End

Im really trying to get down to the lowest price, looking for a Sat night, then a Saturday day. I will no spend more than $65pp before tax :)

How about Flowerfield? It's run by the same people as Lands End so presumably the pricing will be the same.

Re: Amy

you know it

I honestly told them look, I am not spending more than $65pp before tax, I will NOT come down unless you can tell me the dates and the prices $65 or under beforehand right now on the phone... Otherwise theyre wasting my time... Youd be surprised at how much better you do when your assertive :)

Give them the dates others have given you and say you need to beat that or Im going there...

Re: Amy

Did you try Atlantica in the Hamptons? How far is that from you? I know it's pricey, but if you got Lands End down that much, I'm sure you could do the same at Atlantica.

Re: Amy

I believe Flowerfield told me they couldnt come down even close... Ummm crescent Beach Club told me the lowest they could go was in the 90s range..

Re: Amy

Flowerfield is definitely a lot more than any of the places on the list!

Re: Amy

I havent tried Atlantica, but most of my family is coming from Nassau... I was trying to keep it a it closer, but hey - why not its worth a shot.. Ill get back to you!

Re: Amy

I dont' think you are going to find Land's End or Flowerfield in that price range.

We looked at both places and they were over $140 for a Saturday night. I am sure it is over $60pp for a Saturday day as well....

I also looked at Watermill for a Saturday night and it was over $60 for the night... closet to $100...

ALthough, reading over your other post, if you are booking this close in advance you might get much lower than what they quoted me lat summer.... didn't realize you were planning so close to the date.

Good Luck- Can't wait to see what you decided!

Re: Amy

We booked Majestic Gardens..our price is a little higher than you are looking to spend but your guarantee may help you a little more, and the time of year makes a difference.

Oh ok, I just mentioned that b/c I thought you were looking near you. What about Lido Golf Club at Lido Beach? www.lidocatering.com

Re: Amy

Flowerfield couldnt help me out..

Majestic Gardens was $60 sat day in july
Ummmmmm
Watermill $72 for day in july

Re: Amy

Have you confirmed that these dates (or date) are open? I know that I would just want to book already because the summer is a very popular time and I am surprised that there are still summer weekend dates open four months from now.

I started looking for places 11 months before I got married and some places were completely booked all summer already!

Re: Amy

Also, what about Bayview House at Captain Bill's? Bayshore is not too far from your Nassau guests and looks pretty - www.captainbills.com. or Lombardi's on the Sound in Port Jeff?

Re: Amy

Oh and the Riviera in Massapequa. Looks like a ski chalet from the outside. Very rustic, cozy feel. I liked it b/c it was tucked in a residential area and on the water. Plus, one wedding at a time. And, if they have any dates in the summer open, I'm sure you could get it for under $65pp.
BTW, I am officially putting more thought into your wedding than my own.

Re: Amy

yup - I always make sure they have dates open or I wont go in for a tour it would be a waste... I find out on the phone ahead of time. I tell them to look into their books and tell me when they have open, and what rooms.. I also ask if there will be other weddings and if so what time...

Believe it or not theres a lot out there even at the nicest places. If your flexible with your date and you wait until last minute youve got it made..

Re: Amy

I am confused, Flowerfield and Land's End are run by the same company (Lovin Oven) why would one come down and not the other?

Re: Amy

No idea

It probably has to do with how many dates they still have open..
