An '08 needs some help with flowers!

Okay so I'm trying to research flowers and florists and I want to do spring flowers since we're getting married in march and a lot of the florists are telling me that a lot of the spring flowers are too delicate to use

So I figured I would ask the '07 March brides, what flowers are you using for your bo-k's and centerpieces if you are using somethig other than roses?

TIA!

I'm not sure what flowers are good for the spring, but you can always call my florist (Designs by Rose, 718-848-7511) and speak to Rose and ask. She is so sweet, I'm sure she wouldn't mind. You could always book an appt with her and she can show you a ton of options right from her computer.

We are using Roses, lillys, peony's, tulips and hydranga in the centerpieces.

My bok will be Peony's and some tulips.

The Bm's will have hydranga, tulips, and some roses.

I am the middle of april

ETA: We are using Burtons and there are plenty of Flowers you can use for that time.

Lori - did you try Designs by Rose yet? she is really accomodating and her prices are great. They will definitely try to work with you. FM me if you have any questions.

I know you really want the spring flowers, but the vendors may be trying to be honest with you. If they are delicate, they may die and they probably dont want you to spend so much $$ if that will happen.

Thanks girls and those flowers are gorgeous!

I haven't checked out DBR just yet. I'm going back to the Fox Hollow House florist tomorrow because for some reason I trust him and feel really comfortable with him. We're going to see a sample and I'm going to ask him what the deal is with the spring flowers.

It's not so much that everyone is telling that all the flowers are delicate and won't last it's more of the fact that every florist is telling me something different and it's gettin to me now!

One says yes to gardenia's and no to tulips and daff's and the other says no to gardenia's but yes to everything else.

If I'm not happy with what I see tomorrow I might try giving DBR a call and see what she says. Thanks again girls! This '08er appreciates it!

I'm a Feb bride....but its close
we used cala lilies, curly willow branches and bear grass for ceterpeices.
My bouquet was cala lilies, blue muscari and some other flower starting with an R.
BM had blue hydrangea with ivory roses. FG had white spray roses in a crown on their hair. WHite and blue petals.
IT was a fairytale.
