An alternate to flower girls????
Hi, as some of you may know, I have a HUGE BP.Now my FMIL wants her twin grandaughters to be FGs. I have 2 already.
Should I just go w/the flow and have 4????
I guess I could make them walk 2 by 2, although I think it takes away from the cuteness of each girl scattering petals.
Or is there something else I can have the twins do and still be a part of the BP?
Someone suggested Bell ringers,(was that you Shamma?) I thought that may be a good idea.
I want to know if anyone else has any suggestions.
I don't want to 'rock the boat' for once. LOL

Re: An alternate to flower girls????
I don't think four FGs will take anything away...I actually think it will be cute having four little ones scattering petals. We wanted to include as many of our nieces/nephews/young cousins as we could. Three of them will be bringing up the offering at our wedding mass. Are any of your girls old enough to do that? Some of the kids will hand out programs before mass, and then bubbles afterwards.
The bell ringing sounds nice, too, but will it interfere with your processional music?

I am probably leaning towards just having the 4 FGs afterall. You're most likely right, it will look cute. The bell ringing may interfere, now that I think about it, I'm having a harpist, also I think they may be a bit shy for that.

You're right, my BP is pretty big anyway, I guess 2 more will just go right a long with the 'theme'

Liz, I had 3 FG in my wedding and everybody was loving all the kids more than the bridesmaids and ushers. I say go for 4 FG's.

Re: An alternate to flower girls????
I have a parade of kids too! 7 kids total ranging from 4 year old twins to an 8 year old - all on my FH's side, excet for one!At first, we were going to have them all but then we decided we wanted to make his godson the official ringbearer and I wanted my only baby cousin - a beautiful adopted asian girl- to be the official flowergirl.
My FMIL wanted the kids involved so much for photo ops and all, so we decided to have the 5 kids walk down together after the mothers sit, a little kid parade to announce the beginning of the procession.
Then we are having the flowergirl and ringbearer within the procession where they would be traditionally.
Does that make sense? It makes everyone so happy to see the kids involved, I think its worth the extra coordinating!

Re: I say GO FOR IT
We had 7 kids--5 girls and 2 boys
2 girls first
2 girls and ring GUY
FG & RB
It was great-- I wouldnt have imagined it different--although everyone thought we were crazy--
We had a ring bearer(he carried the rings on pillow) and the ring GUY-- had rings in his pocket that he gave out during the reception--he loved the attention
Do whatever makes you happy --
Our pics are awesome with all the kids
Here is one
