An update on what 'WAS' our house...

So I basically want to jump off a cliff it's so frustrating house hunting. We were 'this close' to having our very own house 2 weeks ago (in holbrook) BUT OF COURSE upon the engineer inspection apparantly there was 'structural damage' and it would end up being a money pit. It looked absolutely gorgeous on the outside and on the inside but beneath the surface apparantly it's a money pit waiting to happen. They said we'd end up having to drop like $75k on fixing the structure so the house wouldn't fall apart And the owners knew about it that's why they were so anxious to get out....f*ckin f*ckers !!!!!!

So that's basically the whole situation with me, Rocco and our dream house for anyone who was wondering

Oh, I'm so sorry. But if there was so much damage, it's not your dream house after all... there's a better one out there for you. So sorry you have to start the search all over again, but best of luck to you.

Hey, better you know now.

Have you ever seen the movie The Money Pit? If not, you should rent it. It will make you feel a LOTTTTTTTTT better about not buying that house. Plus its friggen hysterical

I'm sorry you had to go through that, FH and I had the same thing with a house in Bellmore and so we had spent all this time, and the money on the inspection, and the house was deemed unacceptable :(

That stinks but its better you know and dont have to deal with that down the road. Its better off even though its going to put you two back to house hunting again...good luck!!!

I'm so sorry Melissa! At least you found out before you bought the house, though. If you found out after you bought it, it would've been a disaster. Good luck with house hunting!

thats such a disappointment - but don't worry, you'll find yours - its better that you walk away - you definitely dont want a house with structural damage
