I'm not using inner envelopes, and there are some people I want to invite 'and guest', but I know you're not supposed to address invitations to 'Mr. XX and Guest'. Any ideas how to get around this?

Re: 'and guest'?
We did that (Mr. XXXXXX and Guest). I think that it's fine.

Re: 'and guest'?
I addressed and guest on the outter ones. I thought specifically writing everyones names on inner ones was too time consuming. The know to bring a guest if it says it on the outter one. if it doesnt they better not =)

Re: 'and guest'?
If I know the person I'm inviting has a significant other then I put it as Mr. Blah Smith & Guest. If not, I just leave as Mr. Blah Smith.

if you're not doing inner envelopes, then i dont think it's a problem at all to put 'and guest' on the outers!

I did this too,,on the outer envelope. I left the inner envelope blank. I think it's fine! Who's going to care??

Yep. exactly what I did... I dont think there is a way of going around this if you dont have an inner envelope

I don't have inner envelopes either, so I put it on the outer. What else can you do?

Re: 'and guest'?
Actually we usually get invites addressed to 'Mr. X and Guest' by FH's friends and 'Ms. X and Guest' by my friends. I don't think I've seen it another way.

Re: 'and guest'?
If you have no inner envelopes it's fine to put 'and guest' on the outer, just keep the 'G' in guest lowercase.

Re: 'and guest'?
I had pocketfolds so no inner envelope....the person that printed the envelopes for me put Mr. So&so and his guest.... for the people whose date's names we didn't know....never saw the and 'his/her' before 'guest' but people have said it was a nice touch, either way i think it's fine

We didn't have inner envelopes, and just wrote 'and guest' on the outter envelopes.

Good question, I'm curious as well...... I wrote it with a capital 'G' on the outter envelopes - wouldn't have thought otherwise
