Hello ladies! We just finalized our guest list and sent out the STD magnets. I decided not to invite my cousins with guests because the reception is mostly family...I have a big family! Should I feel guilty? Only two of my cousins were invited with guests because they are in long term relationships.

Re: And guest? Not so much!
Don't feel guilty!! They'll have their family to sit with-especially if you & your FH are paying for things on your own-no need to invite EVERY person with a guest!

it's exactly what FH and I are doing ... if they're in a long term relationship (about a year or more) then that's fine but i really don't need their flavor of the month to come to my wedding!
i also don't want to meet people for the first time at my wedding!
dont' feel bad at all!

Exactly! I'm not unreasonable...if they find someone between now and the New Year I'll adjust!

Re: And guest? Not so much!
I have only one cousin being invited with a guest. The 18 year old from Dallas, Texas is not getting an invite from guest, and neither is my 30 year old brother - he's actually asked if his friend could come to keep him company. Yea, I know, my brother is an odd ball. Him and his friends belong on Big Bang Theory.

I've learned that big weddings make big problems. Almost everyone who was not invited with a guest asked if they could bring one. It's really annoying, especially since some on them are not even in relationships. I don't need flavor of the weeks at our wedding.

The last thing you want is to look and your pictures and say 'who are all these people?' I can't believe people ask to bring guests- that is rude!

Re: And guest? Not so much!
When I call ppl to get correct spelling and adress I will prob ask if they have someone they would like to bring, incentuating a gf, fiance, etc.
I intend on writing on the invite the guests name.. not '& guest'.. I want to know who it is I am inviting! I am not writing out seating cards that say joe shmo & guest, suzie & guest!

I totally agree...sit with the family if you need company. But no way is someone coming who doesn't have a solid place in your life! Then again, a 10 yr relationship can crumble weeks before the wedding..so who are we to judge?

Re: And guest? Not so much!
This was a little bit of an snag in planning the guest list but DH & I sqaushed it quickly so there were no issues. I wasn't going to have all these random people sharing in the most special day of my life, I wanted people there that DH & I really cared about and that cared about us. Like someone posted above I didn't want photos with people in them that I didn't know.
