And I Thought I Hated Living Here Before

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Town of Smithtown s ucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe our street has not been plowed or sanded ALL day! So called the highway dep't and they close at 3:30 (the clock said 3:31). I called the emergency number and this chick was like 'well mame all of Suffolk County is like this' So I tell her I got married 4 months ago, up until which time I lived in the Town of Huntington - which is twice the size of Smithtown and I have NEVER EVER come home from work to find my street such a mess with absolutely NO attention!

She claims they got hold of someone in highway and will be sending a plow over. We'll see if they get here before DH gets home.

Then send them to my street in the Town of Brookhaven, My entire development is coated in ice and treet limbs.

Yeah, I'm also in the town of Smithtown and our streets are a mess! Even the hospital routes were horrible.

I think its the whole county....b/c when I woke up this morning my street wasn't clean, but I thought for sure the highway LIE 495 would be clean and it wasn't. 495 was still bad on my home, maybe even worse. I don't even understand they had plenty of time to prepare, its the first storm. They can't even say they are over the budget!!!!

Interesting Lauren. The Commack/Smithtown border runs straight through the middle of the house! I can safely say however, that neither the Commack side, nor the Smithtown side was in any way shape or form taken care of. I almost took out the mailbox this morning pulling out of the driveway b/c they NEVER came yesterday, and the street is now a 5 inch thick sheet of ice.

Yeah, but the Commack side of your house is still in the Town of Smithtown. The line between Huntington and Smithtown is farther west. My house is in Town of Smithtown. I was home yesterday and I heard plows on my street but it kept getting iced over again.
