And it starts...
My suspicions from yesterday afternoon were correct.
The layoffs started.
I'm safe, for now. The admin was let go today. She was home sick 4/5 days last week, the same week the office manager was away on vaca, so I did my own two jobs, the OM's job, AND the admins job all week...and life went on, and it showed how expendable she was, and there you go. S/ucks, that you can't even get sick anymore without having to worry about if you're going to lose your job over it.
The production coordinator was also let go, but it was a voluntary thing with the understanding that she would come back in the Fall if things get better.
Our part time admin/billing girl, who was the original admin but went back to school, is now picking up more hours to compensate for the layoff...BUT had to take a large paycut, to work more hours!!!
And now I have to pick up the slack for the 15 hours a week that she will not be here.
I'm grateful that I still have my job, for now. It's just depressing that I have to take on so much more now, when I was already doing the job that in a normal company 3-4 separate people would be doing. It s/ucks![]()
