and now really, on the subject of not shaking things.

I'm searching for a change of pace
Searching for a change

I like the sound you make when we're shaking
You like to lose control and I take it
I turn the music up so it drowns us out

give yourself permission

know that shaking off A doesn't equate to any lack of backbone, pride, etc

if you want B, REALLY want B - above all else

then you have to make peace with A

maybe even have a symbolic gesture of releasing yourself from A

your want for B has to be so powerful that it overrides anything A has to say about it

I couldn't have said it better

Agreeed.

And, I want to again emphasize...you have to really accept and know each choice (A or B) and come to terms that shaking one or the other is YOUR CHOICE. If when choosing B, no more mention of A. If choosing A, no more mention of B.

Re: and now really, on the subject of not shaking things.

I have always WANTED to believe in soul mates and one true love... but I have come to discover I don't truly believe that. I can't.

I love my husband and he might be my soul mate but I just can't be sure. We have a crazy history... Anyway, not the point!

We are all capable of loving more than one person. We are taught that we shouldn't, can't and are terrible if we do. I will never stop loving my first love. We are still good friends, he came to my wedding and i'm going to his. We still joke about us being together. Obviously it won't happen anytime soon but hey, you never know.

Shaking things is something that I believe happens with time. I don't think there is any one solution to shaking something. Get your mind off it. Plan a weekend away with hubby. Renew your love for each other. Write an essay on why you love him the way you do. But in my opinion you never really shake the ache of love for another.
