And the bridesmaid dress saga continues....

For those of you who have kept up w/ the story of falling in love w/ overpriced Jim Hjelm dresses here's the update:
After going back and forth w/ various stores, the lowest price I was quoted was $280-from Burton's of course. But from bridesmaids.com, which is the site to Here Comes the Bridesmaid in the city they quoted me, get ready for this...$245!!!! I was BLOWN AWAY!!!! But this only applies to ordering the dresses online. Has anybody done this? Is it a pain in the arse? Feelings, experiences?

did u try bridal elegance in huntington? they came in like $50 cheaper for my BM gown than EVERYONE else because I have 9 girls.

not sure if they have jim hjelm but worth the call!

ETA: I went to here comes the bridesmaid for a bridal party once and wasn't really happy with their customer service at all. they were totally disorganized, lost our form from the first time we went there, and i only saved $15 off the ticketed price.

Burton's will take each BM's measurements and order the right size for each girl based on the manufacturer's guidelines. (Dress sizes are different from street sizes)

Burton's will also charge for alterations, but its worth it b/c they also steam the dresses so there's no wrinkles when they all walk down the aisle.

i was in a wedding last year and we ordered dresses online. sorry, but id rather go to the store and get measured and go to fittings there, when you order them online you dont know what your going to get.

good luck!

I havent followed the saga but my Jim Helm bridesmaids dresses were $187.00 (cash price)...Bridesmaid Dress Let me know if this is similar, feel free to send me an FM and I'd be happy to reccomend my bridal store and maybe they can help... they offered a 25% discount for my girls in lieu of the alterations. HTH!!

I think since bridesmaids.com is a legit store if you all get together and measure each other with seamstress tape following the manufacturer's guidelines you should be OK.

Have you tried RK Bridal? Remember they have a 5% price match policy. So if you have a email or something from Bridesmaids.com they can likely match it and beat it by 5%.

DEFINITELY try Bridal Elegance. I got my Jim Hjelm dresses there for WAY less than everyone else, and I only have 5 girls.

Although, I bought my dress there, so that's part of the reason why.

Hi, kinda of topic, BUT if you are ordering Jim Hjelm dresses, just note - they're dress size run smaller then the norm, so please be extra cautions when ordering. I had problems with my girls dresses. My girls ended up spending tons on alterations because the dresses were to small.

Good Luck,
