And the Bus Strike Lingers On

*VENT*

We're going on 2 weeks and this Green Bus Line strike has still not been resolved, meaning that we've been without our express bus service for 2 weeks. Commuting hasn't been bad, but we don't live very close to the train, so my dad has been getting up early to drive us to the train station and pick us up at night. What's worse is that Boosh has to be in at 8, while I don't have to be in till 9, but I don't want my dad having to make 2 trips, so I go in with Boosh. Plus, at night, she gets off the train at 5:30, I get off around 7:30, so for this, he makes 2 trips. Not to mention standing on crowded trains, the whole thing is growing tiresome.

I wish this lovely mayor of our would get his head out of his a$$ and work with the union to get this done. The union is also to blame. The drivers want a contract which is , but both parties have been sitting on the negotiations for 2 years and let it come to this.

If this was NYC, this would be over by now, but since it's Queens and *only* effects 70,000, no one is in a rush.

I seem to remember when Cablevision wasn't offering the YES Network. The world practically stopped to the point where Bloomberg had both parties to his house to resolve the issue so everyone could see the Yankees. Too bad the Queens commuters don't get the same consideration. I guess we know where the priorities lie
