And we have...
success! Atleast for the time being...there is still a great chance the baby could flip back to breech, but for now the buggers head is positioned down where it should be!
Wow, the shot of terbutaline wasn't as bad as I expected (used in preterm labor for stopping contractions) but I feel really out of it. The actual procedure went quickly...but it HURT! I guess pain is the wrong explanation, but a ton of pressure would be an understatement. The baby flipped the first time for the Dr which was a great sign that everything would be OK (no fetal distress or any other complications.) My husband watched and said it was so wierd to see the Dr's hands actually cupped around the baby and he couldn't see part of his hand because it was under the baby and so far in my stomach.
It went well though and that's all that I could ask for! I was monitored for an hour after and both our heartbeats and vital signs were great. However, now that the terbutaline wore off, I am in a great deal of pain. It is kind of hard to stand up and walk.
Oh, and can I just tell you that it feels SOOOO wierd to have the baby head down. It's hard to explain, but the movements I had grown use to are no longer the same and now everytime it moves, I practically jump. I am sure that is in part to do with paranoia that it will flip back up.
Thanks for the hugs and baby turning vibes, they must have worked! Now, just keep those fingers/toes crossed that the baby engages and gets ready for delivery, head down!!!!!![]()
