I had surgery on friday where I was given anesthesia. The anesthesiologist (sp) said not to eat anything big that night, I didnt because I wasnt hungry anyway. During the last couple of days I ate toast and was fine. But the past 2 nights, i ate dinner and felt really sick afterwords. Now today, i ate a bagel and again am feelin nautious and sick. Is it still because of that? I know this is probably a tough question and you might not know the answer, but i figured i'd throw it out there. Thanks anyway

Re: Anesthesia question
I had a similar situation for 4 days after my surgery. Sometimes the anesthesia takes longer to come out of your body. I dont have an explanation for why but when i went to the doctor for my followup i told him my discomfort and he said its completely normal. If it goes on for more than a few days after, i would call your doctor. Feel better

Re: Anesthesia question
Whenver I've had surgery, it takes at least a week for the anesthesia to come out of my system COMPLETELY

Thanks. I feel fine other wise. I'm not in as much pain as I thought I would be. Its just after I eat. But I see the dr. tomorrow, so i'll be sure to ask him why.

Ok, you girls are making me feel better. I am going to have a smoothie for dinner. I had it the first night and I was fine. Hmm.. maybe i'll lose weight by not being able to eat

Me too - I'm the same way. It totally knocks me out for a few days. Try eating really light foods - like white meat chicken and soup. Feel better!
