Is it true that the Garden is going to be closed for renovations for three summers, starting next year????
This could put a wrench into PJ playing there every two summers or so.
Now they're gonna have to play Dirty Jersey for the next few years if this crap is true.
Though IMO the Garden could improve their acoustics a bit. It's THE PLACE to see a show, but not always THE PLACE to HEAR a show.
Anyway.
Please advise.

Re: ANG! MSG HELP!
tis true m'lady... we got a memo about it yesterday.
As we move forward with the renovation of Madison Square Garden, we want to continue to provide you with updates on the project, which will transform The Garden into a state-of-the-art facility worthy of our status as the “World’s Most Famous Arena.” This transformation is important to New York given that The Garden, much like the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and Central Park, is part of the fabric of New York.
We have been working behind the scenes to prepare the building for the construction that will occur during the next few summers. This summer we will continue back of house construction work, which includes closing the Theater for structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing work that must be done to support future work in the Arena. We will also permanently close the Play By Play Restaurant in June to continue work in and around that space, as well as begin work on the east extension that will expand the 6th floor concourse.
At the end of May, as part of allowing the renovation to take place, MSG Networks will move its studios and most of the staff out of 4 Penn and 2 Penn to the 3rd floor in 11 Penn. At 11 Penn, the division will have the entire 3rd floor, and share the 1st floor studios and control rooms with Fuse, whose staff is already in place on the 17th floor. In September we will debut a new state-of-the-art HD facility, with two redesigned studios and control rooms to accommodate the needs of all of MSG Media.
At the conclusion of the Knicks and Rangers 2010-11 seasons, The Garden will be closed for three consecutive summers to complete work on this project. The Arena will be open for the Knicks and Rangers seasons each year, along with our roster of world-class events during this timeframe. While there will be construction-related activity ongoing during the seasons, including work on the concourses, certain suites, concessions and restrooms, we are taking all possible steps to minimize disruption to event attendees. We are currently in discussions to relocate the Liberty for the seasons they are affected.
Below is a description of The Garden transformation phases that are planned to be completed over the next three summers (some areas will debut during the Knicks and Rangers seasons): 2011-12 Season • Lower Bowl seating area with larger, more comfortable seats • Expanded Lower Concourse with city views, enhanced concession stands featuring Coca-Cola products, more restrooms and additional retail locations • 20 new Event Level Suites offering a sophisticated atmosphere and the best seats in the house • New Delta SKY360° Event Level Club offering exclusive dining options and views of athletes entering and exiting the locker room area
2012-13 Season • Upper Bowl seating area with larger, more comfortable seats and significantly improved sightlines • Expanded Upper Concourse with city views, enhanced concession stands featuring Coca-Cola products, more restrooms and additional retail locations • 58 new Lower Level Suites that are larger and half the distance to the court/ice with bowl seating • New all-inclusive Super Club with seating in the arena and exclusive club space available for corporations and individuals looking to entertain at Knicks and Rangers games
2013-14 Season • New 7th Avenue Entrance featuring interactive kiosks, retail locations and a broadcast area • Two spectacular new Bridges that will be suspended above the court/ice for a one-of-a-kind view of the action • New 10th floor Party Decks offering a selection of new food and beverage options and a unique social gathering space with direct views into the arena bowl • New state-of-the-art GardenVision center-hung scoreboard • 18 completely remodeled 9th floor Suites
We will continue to keep you apprised of our plans and progress as we move forward on this exciting project. If you go to MSG Marquee, http://msgmarquee a photo gallery of select renderings of the transformed Garden are available to view.
We thank you for your continued hard work, commitment and passion for Madison Square Garden, which remains the most important factor in our continued and ongoing success.
Thank you.

Re: ANG! MSG HELP!
Thanks. Well this rules out MSG as a place for their 20th anniversary show, if that ever happens.
I see a whole lot of ways in there for them to @ssfcuk the patrons into spending more money but nothing in regard to improving their acoustics.
That bridge thing, if it's a permanent fixture, is going to screw with the sound.
