animal people - specifically cats

Do you get your cats dewormed regularly? My girls are indoor babies, and I'm not sure if its really necessary to get them dewormed.

I had ollie dewormed when I first got him and haven't since. He was born outside, but is an indoor cat now. Once in a while I take him out, but not for long and not often.

miss you, mima. can't wait for tomorrow!

Mine is an indoor cat and I dont. I dont think you have to if they dont go out. I will de-tooth her if she bites my face one more time though.

No you don't have to do that regularly. It's only if you find them outside.

My cat came from Walmart

I haven't had him dewormed and he is strictly indoors.

I had an indoor cat for 15 years and never had her dewormed. She lived a long healthy life.

Nope - mine are all indoor. The only one I ever had de-wormed was my mooshu (rip little buddy ) but that was because he was an abandoned street-kitty.

Thanks girls. I got the postcard in the mail that all 3 are due, but thats $$$. Also, Mima gets very upset when I take her in the car, and it sometimes brings on an asthma attack. I'd prefer to avoid that!

When you have an indoor cat you don't need to, unless they actually have worms.

I have three indoor cats and do not get them dewormed as I don't think it is necessary...I could be wrong but they are 4 1/2 and 3 1/2 and there have not been any problems.

Lulu is indoor and she was dewormed when she was like 3 months. I haven't done it since then because she's indoors. You could ask the vet...although they might tell you that you have to and charge you. Good luck!

I don't think I've ever had my cats dewormed because they're indoor cats. Not necessary

No, not if they're indoors, it isn't necessary
