Hi girls, I know there has been lots of talk about this but was wondering if anyone has ideas for where DH and I can spend our 1st anniversary? We probably only have 4 nights max and a relatively low budget and are willing to drive or fly. Thoughts?

DH and I are spending our anniversary in Newport. We're staying in an afforable B&B and will be touring the mansions and enjoying a weekend getaway. So far it's only cost me $300 for the entire weekend - we just have to pay for dinner wherever we decide to go.

Thanks for all the suggestions girls!
It's so hard because I am planning a surprise trip to Italy in December for DH's 30th that he knows nothing about so I keep having to stress to him that we need to go cheap rather than extravagant for this trip without being too obvious!
Betsy - we went to Newport last month - you are going to love it!
I'll let you know what we wind up with. We might wind up doing DC or Chicago but live it up and stay at the Ritz.

what about going to the Grand Canyon??? Also I know this absolutely ADORABLE Inn up in New Hampshire... which is beautiful in November...it's SUCH a romantic little getaway and totally affordable. FM me if u want details!
