annoyed....

i contacted my old employer about transfering the 401k money I had to my new 401k. Basically I need him to fill out a form and attach the check. This was one of the things that was my responsibility when I worked there. So I contacted him and whatever, and he hasn't awknowledged it. I need his fax number, and he wont send it to me. I can't send it to the general one cus I know itll get thrown away. And I know he wont remember to print it if I email it because I know these things take him months to compete. he is so disorganized and now im not there to do it. They didn't rehire anyone in my position so he is the only one to contact. I just want the money....

Is there any sort of HR department you can go to?

no no no, his avergence is illegal in this matter. it is his duty as a previous employer to give this his attention-and no excuse of disorganization should be accepted by you, no matter how well you know him. a 401k is literally a matter of your future, pls call a rep for the financial institution that holds the 401k with him and explain that you need the roll over form completed and the trouble you are having, they must contact him

good luck

LOl I was the HR department and they cut the position. So now my old boss took over the duties. But he is ver scatterbrain and takes literally months to respond to peoples requests. Not organized at all. So Im like annoyed cus I know its going to be like pulling teeth to ever get this done....

ya I was thinking of calling Lord Abbott. My ex boss's best friend was the rep they had. But I didn't know if they would be able to do anything about it or if it was the sole responsibility of the employer.

btw- you should have seen all the mail and fax threats he would get in a week about taking him to small claims for one reason or another. Like alllllllllllllllll the time!

You might have to go down there personally.
Don't leave till you get what you want. Isn't there a time limit of like 6 months to roll it over without any paying any taxes on it?
