Annoyed at my dentist...

well, actually, i'm annoyed with his receptionist (also his wife)
I made an appointment last week for tomorrow at 7:30 am ( i know - waaaay too early, but i thought it would give me a nice early start to my day)
she called me this morning to confirm the appointment.
THEN at 6:30pm, she called and left a message that she SWITCHED my appointment time to 9:15!!
On one hand, that does give me extra time to sleep - but on the other hand, what if i had other plans tomorrow, and i couldn't switch times?
It's not the first time she's done this either....and it's starting to get on my nerves!!!!

I was tempted to call ad leave a message that I wanted to keep my original time - just becuase this is not the first time she's changed my apopintment time.
But then i realized I could sleep later, and decided to take the later appointment.

those darn dental receptionists!!!
i only would move the patient if my boss told me too, otherwise you bascially ask the patient if they can move as per the dr.

as a medical receptionist, i'd put $10 on it that the dentist MADE her change it because you were the only appt that early, and he didn't want to get up just for you.

I get this alllllll the time at my job- we're just the messengers, but people have actually cursed at us before!!! We have no authority to change what the owner wants.

Still $ucks though - we almost never change appointments, because we know how inconvenienced the patient becomes. Most end up cancelling if we change their appts.

No - I know it's her. her husband is the dentist and she stared working there when he had an affair with the dental hygeinist...so she's there to control the office - and she does.
She is notorious for moving appointments around on people so that she can get as many people in on a particular day as possible!
The dentist is a sweetheart (well, aside from the infidelity) and he loves what he does, so he has no problems getting there bright and early!

I came up with my new plan though - next time she calls and changes my appointment for me, without consulting me....I'm going to call her back and tell her I'll reschedule the appointment for a different day . Betcha that will be the last time she switches it on me!!!

Oh - and I am in no way saying anything bad about receptionists . I used to be one and I know what it's like to have to give those sort of messages! I have been going to this dentist since birth practically.....my chart starts in 1980 I think , so I know it's just this particular receptionist
