OK! Maybe, I'm going overboard. But, Today is my MIL's birthday. I bought her card about 2 weeks ago. I have asked my husband to write it out for her. Last night it was still not written out. He got annoyed because I haven't sent it out. And that I should just write it out myself. She's not MY mother!! It takes all of 2 seconds to write out the card himself. Last night I handed him the card & a pen. Told him I'm mailing it today. To please write it out. Lo & behold I looked at it today. IT'S STILL BLANK!!!!
Would this annoy any of you???

Absolutely! Men don't get that these things are important. You did enough by getting the card and writing it out.
Explain to him that women, especially moms, really love cards. My mom will take a card I send her to work and parade it all around. Also explain, that since it is HIS mother, it would mean to much to her that HE writes in it.
Men. Can't live with 'em, pass the beer nuts.

would annoy me, but thats because I have the same issue with FH, I usually have to stand there and say sign it over and over till he gets so mad he signs it...if I walked away he would forget about it in a second...

I would be pissed too Tracy! But does his mother expect a card - like does that stuff matter to her? If not I wouldn't worry about the card, but I would be mad that I asked him to do it and he still didn't do it. I hate that. It's not like you're forcing him to do it. If he feels it's not that important then he should say 'my mom doesn't expect a card and doesn't care if she doesn't get one'. My FIL is like that - he'd forget his own birthday if no one reminded him. Clive called him like a week later. I thought it was weird but that's the way it is.

I just hover until it's done. The Mother's Day gift for his mom didnt get to her until 3 days after because he thought I was being pushy asking him to give it to her the day before. I knew we'd be out half the day on Sunday (Mothers day) but he thought she'd 'be around'. *shrug*
You win some..... you lose some.
Not my mother, not my problem. She knows I hound him for stuff like this and thinks it's cute that I've had as much luck at it as she did.

Men are RIDICULOUS when it comes to cards!!! I went to buy Mothers Day cards 1 week or so before Mothers Day. I said to him why dont you pick up your mothers, grandmothers, etc. while we are here. No he said hed pick them up during the week. I said you are standing here in front of cards just do it now!!! He did it reluctantly, but his Godmothers was just sent out a few days ago cause he was too lazy to find the address!!! I nagged and nagged him to call his cousin for the address but no.........so I am feeling your pain.

He told me to send her an e-card to make up for the fact that they will be a week late (she lives in Ireland) And the mailman can be mighty slow in the country!! LOL
She cherishes everything she gets. Typical Irish Mom. So, She will just cherish it w/ my handwriting & late!

I would be annoyed too. DH would say 'oh you are so much better at this stuff'. It doesn't take much to sign a card. If I didn't buy the cards then he never would and I also go shopping for everyone's present and I wrap too. At christmas time I wrap all the gifts!!!!!!!!! Again he says I am better at than he is....men!

But I always get even when the garbage has to be taken out. He'll say 'babe why can't you take out the garbage sometimes'. and i'll be like 'becauase you are so much better at it'....LOL

I called him & said 'You didn't sign your Mothers card!' He said 'Oh sh!t I forgot' Then he told me to go to where he was working & he'll sign it. Of course I had to make him lunch as well! But, sure enough he wrote the card & the only thing I wrote was my name!!
