I hand cancelled my invites myself and they still put them through the machine. My parents and brother's have black marks all over the envelope and the inner and outer envelopes and all crinkled and look so unprofessional. Also a streak went through to the reply envelope. The only thing that looks good is the actual invitation (thank god the important part). I just had to vent I got so upset over this last night I was in tears-first time for me since the wedding planning so I guess that's pretty good! Thanks for letting me share

I don't blame you for being upset. especially since you went through all the trouble of hand canceling them. hopefully they don't all have the black smudges on them.
but like you said, the important part - the actual invitation is ok.

I just brought mine to the PO today, and they wouldn't let me hand cancel them, hopefully they will be OK!. I am sure your guests know its not your fault about what happened to the invites, just a little bump in the road..everything will be fine.

This was upstate. I took so much time making sure that I stamped them perfectly what a waste of time lol.

Same thing happened to me. One of my mom's friends actually hand delivered her response Oh well, there's nothing we can do about it. I was upset, but then I had to get over it. If that's the worse thing that happens during our wedding then I can live with that.

I asked mine to hand cancel them and they came out beautifully. So I guess its just a crapshoot- gotta love the post office!

They wouldn't let me either! I saw some though and they all were fine luckily.

everyone knows that when you put something in the mail it can get dirty, it is just a fact of life... dont sweat the small stuff!!! I dont think anyone will even think twice about the marks!!
