This is for all the ladies that live in apartments...
I have this really noisy neighbor that lives below me and i've spoken to him about his music and voice level (I can hear him SCREAMING all night) and it will be quiet for a while and then it starts up again.
Any suggestions on what I can do? There's only so much loud techno I can listen to while I'm trying to study and carry on with my day to day life!!

Do you have a landlord? Can you say something to the landlord or management office?

is there a management company?? contact the management company or the landlord. they have to do SOMTHING about it. last year i had a VERY LOUD neighbor upstairs and so many of us complained that they evicted him. once it hit midnight he would BLAST his music until 4am!! it was RIDICULOUS! i slept with my AC on well into the winter... i got very close to calling 311 several times.
also, i would bang on the ceiling \with a broom when i would get annoyed. sometimes he understood what it meant, other times he ignored me altogether!

Is there a landlord to go to? I know you may not want to do that for fear that this guy might do it more if you complain, but if it has been going o for a while I'd call the landlord. You pay rent and should not have to deal with that.
If it were me, I would blast Celine Dion or some real classical music next time I hear it quiet down there, maybe when you think he is sleeping blat away, maybe he'll get the message!! Good Luck!!

I also wanted to thank you guys for your suggestions. I am a little worried that the situation might escalate if I go to the landlord, but I don't think he's left me much of a choice
I'll keep you guys posted if there's any changes!!

I know what you are saying! I have someone that lives above who blast their music at 1 am in the morning and the people who live across from me i hear them yelling at their kids who are babies like 3 or 4 from the top of their lungs and they have a baby also that is not even 1 and a half years old i get scared that they are abusing them but i am afraid to do something. so yeah i know what you mean. i would complain and i should take my own advice and go to the office next time i hear that again.

OH how I understand, our entire apt building is sooo freaking loud, the kid downstairs I nicknamed demon child as he makes demon noises all hours of the day and night...All you can do ( I have learned) is MOVE.... It ***** I understand!

I hear ya. I used to live in a complex, and the same problem happened with me. The music would be so loud that my floors would shake. I called the management a few times, however, nothing was done. It would start for a while, then stop. 8AM on Saturdays they would be our alarm with the dam music!

I don't get it. How can people do this to their neighbors and just not care? If I get up late at night, I tiptoe around the apartment so I don't make too much noise. Grrrr....
