If you find a rate online for a hotel and call them for blocking rooms will they honor the rate you find online?

Some hotels will honor the rate, but many will not. I think you would have to call the specific hotle to find out how they handle it.

No not necessarily. I was told that they wouldn't. I plan to tell my guests to check the online rates to see which is cheaper.
Right now, my blocked rate for the Marriott is a lot cheaper than the online rate.

I would say probably not, but they should considering you are giving them so much business...

I have only had one hotel that honored the online rate! That was only because their was a mess up on the site!

If it is their website (like Hyatt or Marriott) they might allow it but if you found it on Orbitz or Hotels.com, they probably won't.
