Another addressing invites Q- help!

Another addressing invites Q- help!

Im so confused. My planning book says:

INNER
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
(no address)

OUTER
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smith
(address)

or if kids under 16 too:

INNER
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
(no address)

OUTER
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smith
John, Mary, and Glen
(address)

....I thought it was Mr. and Mrs. Smith on outer and then the inner lets them know who youre specifically inviting-
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smith
John, Mary, and Glen

Whats right?

Also, do you include a newborn child's name on the invite if theyre going to bring him/her? Sorry thats prob a stupid Q!

TIA!!!

That's strange that it says to put the kids names on the outside!!! I always saw it (and read that the proper way was to have it) on the inside envelope.

I would do:

Outside:
Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Smith
Address

Insite:
Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Smith
John, Mary, and Glen
(NO ADDRESS)

I WOULD put a newborn's name if he/she is invited.

Thx so much Yesenia. This books weird. It also says to write 'and Guest' on outer, but Ive read everywhere else never to do that and that it should only be on the inner

Yeah, that book is retarded. The ONLY time you put 'and Guest' on the outside is if you don't have inner envelopes (like me, for example, bc I'm doing pocketfolds and just the outer envelope).

I would DEFINITELY put the newborn baby's name on the inside envelope as invited. Even though it's already understood that they will be bring the little one, I think it would make the new parents happy - just a nice little touch.

proper way is inside, not on outer. Look at a couple of websites and go with the majority.

I'm in the middle of doing mine and that is exactly how I'm doing it. My Invites came with a little booklet on how to adress the invites and the above rules where what it stated!!
