I just wanted to post this in case anyone hasn't heard about this yet. I for one am really concerned about this group of attackers - I live in East Meadow and walk home from my bus stop every night. . . . So horrible what people are capable of doing 'just for fun'

Annie, here is the story:
01/21/05) FREEPORT - A band of bat-wielding teenagers who've been terrorizing Nassau County has struck again. Police say the victim, a Papa John's pizza deliveryman, was beaten and robbed Thursday night after being lured to Manhattan Avenue in Roosevelt. The man suffered facial injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Cops say the deliveryman was met in front of the house by two women. When the man handed over the pizza, police say two men pounced on him with a baseball bat and demanded money.
Since January 1, there have been eight baseball bat attacks in Nassau County. According to police, attacks occurred in Garden City, Roosevelt, Uniondale, East Meadow, Rockville Centre and Baldwin.

this makes me sick. I can't believe these a$$holes haven't been caught yet either. And the East Meadow attack was on Chestnut Street - which isn't that far from where we live.....

I know. Lately there have been so many unsolved crimes in LI. The jeweler who was killed, DH's uncle and these bat attacks. Crimes on LI Unsolved

that happened to my father in baldwin about 3 yrs ago, same MO. he was taking a walk down theblock from our house and then 4 guys in a dark car jumped out and jumped him. they thought they stole his wallet, but they really stole his insulin pump! ripped it right out! some nice person in hempstead found it on his lawn and called us. i hope they catch those bastards!

I gotta feeling (no evidence, just a hunch) they live in my neighborhood or neighboring neighborhood.
How else would they know the address of an empty house?
How could they seem to always know the best places to strike, least watched, always assumed safe?
These guys are committing crimes and probably home warm and safe before the cops get there!
Garden City, Uniondale, East Meadow... all pretty much close to me. Hrm...
Strange how it's missing Hempstead.

I am petrified. I work in Uniondale and sometimes there are some creepy people early in the morning when I get there before my boss. I am so scared for anyone in these areas. I am looking twice before I go into my office. Girls, please be careful, there are such creeps out there!

that is absolutely terrible. why cant people find something better to do wiht there time. is it really necessary to do this. i would be very nervous knowing this....unbelieveable...it really burns my stomach to know that there are sick a$$holes out there that do this.
