ok..so i heard back from my florist about the bok b/c i told her i wanted it fully wrapped
she said that since it's july, she would prefer leaving the stems showing, because she's worried about wilting
sooooo my two possibilities:
wrap them all the way, and worry about wilting wrap them with stems showing, and worry about staining

Re: another bok question
since flowers are such a big expense & will be in the majority of the pictures, i would go with wrapping them with the stems showing.
then just tell everyone who is holding boks to make sure they don't lean the stem on their dresses.

wow, i didn't even think about staining . I think you'll be fine with the stems showing...it's a big investment and I'm sure you want your moneys worth!

Re: another bok question
I thought part of the reason they wrap them is because they can put something in there that retains water and then just wrap it well with like saran wrap or whatever to keep it from leaking before they wrap it with ribbon to hide all of the ugliness going on underneath. But then again I may have no idea what I am talking about.

I was gonna say screw it and cover those stems! After the ceremony and photos, you're done with the bo-k. But, your dress will still have a stain all night long if it touches the stems.
However, the girls above make a good point!

Re: another bok question
One of the florists I met with said that they wrap the stems all the way and they put a small wad of wet paper towel in the bottom so the stems get some water, especially in the summer months. I'm not 100% clear how this works, but it sounds feasible. I'm planning to have mine completely wrapped and will suggest this method to my florist. HTH!

yes, this is what I was told too, and after the pictures and the entrance to your reception you are not holding your flowers - I am having my stems wrapped.

Re: another bok question
the only reason they get wrapped is because it makes the bok easier to hold. i've been a bridesmaid with wrapped & unwrapped & it makes a difference.
i would be worried that a small wad of wet paper towel would leak out & then you may end up with a wet spot on the dresses.
