Another but simple BM Dress Poll!

How much are you asking your girls to spend on a BM dress (including alterations)? What do you feel is an appropriate amount or the max to ask?

I wouldn't go over $200. But it depends on how much your girls love the dress and how much their willing to spend on it!!

I agree. I did wear a Vera Wang dress for my sisters wedding and well, I had no complaints on the price...especially being around $240 w/out alterations. All her girls were ok w/it.
All up to you what you like and what they can afford.

I feel like they always seem to get the most out of you. If you get a discount on the dress...ite ends up costing on the alteration.

Im hoping to find my girls something inexpensive and of course, to my liking.

I personally would ask them to spend more then 200..

....But my MOH is my sister and she works party time and one of my BH is coming from out of state GA so all that travel is alot and my other BH just got out of school had has loans up to her eyeballs so I took that all in when i was looking at dresses

bridesmaid dress is 179, alterations cap at 65

Im not asking... I'm telling.

$175+alterations which may be capped at $60 (not sure)

BUT

My maid of honor is ordering a plus size dress and plus sizes cost more money. She knows this and accepts it.

I want to keep the dress under 200 since the alterations can be expensive. You also have to consider the BM expenses.. such as hair, makeup and shoes...

If you want to exceed 200 def think you need to ask the BMs to see if they are willing to spend that much.

Same here! They loved the dress so much, I don't think they cared. Nobody has complained yet. :)

I'm trying not to go over 200, but unfortunately the dress I like by Jim Hjelm is very expensive. I'm trying to look for as much as a discount as I can for them. Being that I was just a bm recently and will be another a few months before my own wedding...
