Re: Another 'cat fight' on BHB
someone posted asking for the 'best' hairstylist. one former bride said something about how she didn't want a LI hair-do for her wedding and people took offense to that… which I don’t blame them. Her definition of LI hair is over-sprayed and over-curled.
Then she said something about how she didn’t like LI flowers either.
ummm, what are a 'LI flowers'

I think she was JOKING. OK maybe her comment about 'li' hair was a little tacky.. but I really think it was blown out of proportion, just like alot fo other things on this board..

I guess so and maybe I am wrong with this one, but in general I think that some people on this board tend to attack the slighest slip of the tongue. I am sometimes afraid to post something for fear I will get attacked.

Okay, I agree. I just read the thread. She was joking (hence the smiley face) when she said the LI flowers comment. The comment about the hair (over-sprayed, etc) may not have been phrased the best, but hey we're human. Mostly everything we say on this website are based on our personal opinions, however when someone disagrees then people want to tell her to say IMO. I don't get it. I've seen threads where people were down right rude in giving there opinions, but IMO this was not the case here.

Re: Another 'cat fight' on BHB
Yes, since I joined last year the boards have gotten A LOT more dramatic, catty, and judgemental.
People are very quick to judge and are not so diplomatic. Unfortunately, there are also some people who complete thrive on drama on lifamilies as well and are always shouting and rolling their eyes so much they come across as immature teenagers.
As I deal with 100 students with severe senioritis and superiority complexes every day I don't want more drama in something that's supposed to be fun.
We are planning weddings, shouldn't we all be in a pretty good mood? Aren't we all adults?

Hmm.. well since we are talking about LI hair.. what about the girls in Jersey, whitestone and Staten Island OK please forgive.. I couldn't resist!!!
I just think here over on the '05 board we are more than close enough and we know what we can say to each other and what to hold back. Some newbies or non frequent LIweddingsers just put their 2 cents in and don't care about the repercussions. Can't we all just get along!

I grew up in Jersey and got teased about Jersey hair for years, even though I never really had Jersey hair (big, overblown, etc.). It never bothered me though, since I don't have Jersey hair (Jersey brides, please take no offense, this is meant in fun).
Yeah, there has been a lot of cattiness on both sides of the LI hair statement.

if anyone thinks NJ girls have big hair, they've never been to Texas! OH MY GOD!! a lot of the women that I saw in Dallas literally have a WALL of hair on top of their heads! it's like 80's 'guidette' style (teased and sprayed to death) to the 10th power!
I was in Dallas in Feb. for the 1st time.... I have to say, I was really impressed with Dallas & the burbs. it's beautiful, and CHEAP! too bad it's so hot down there. Otherwise I would move there in a heartbeat.

no, I was actually trying to make the previous poster from NJ know that there are places known for these big hair styles today.
in addition, did you notice I ended my post with something very nice to say about Dallas? everybody relax.

Im relaxed, dont worry All im saying is that youre defeating your purpose when you made a generalization like that.... you dont need to put something else down to make someone else feel better, it just seemed contradictory
