Another check for today - passport appointment

Made if for the morning of the 16th prior to my dress fitting!!!!

I should have done this MONTHS ago but I think I should still be good on timing!!!!!

Yea - now you have to go to the passport to do all the dirty work.

Atleast that's what FH had to do a couple months ago.

I was told you just have to bring in the stuff to the post office. Are you sure you need an appointment?

Positive - check your local post office's website, they say 'by appointment only'

They only do it at certain times during the week.

Oh okay, I checked with mine, it's between certain hours only a couple days a week. No appointment needed though. Thanks, You scared me!

congrats on the passport appt. I did mine at town hall it took all of 5 minutes.

Congrats. FYI it takes about 4 - 8 weeks to get the passport back so you may need to expedite yoru passport. We had to do that for my FH's passport before we went to Europe last year. Its a little more money but you get your passport in 2 weeks :) Congrats!

Actually, it depends on the post office.

I looked around and found one in my area that does walk ins between certain hours.

I would try to do it that way, Eloise, before April 8th, cause if gov't shuts down, you could be waiting a while for it to be processed!

Yes-it looks like the April 8 shutdown may very well happen

I would definitely pay to expedite....I expedited mine at the end of February and got it turned around and back to me in 8 days!

How do you go on your honeymoon then? I didn't have a passport until last year... if I waited for my name change, I couldn't apply for the passport til after that stuff was all done and by then it's months after the wedding.
