I have some gay friends and I'm all good with it until they start getting crazy with the PDA's - but then again over exploitation of PDA's bother me from hetero's too. To each his own is all good with me, but I don't really understand the whole thing. I used to feel strange around a woman I used to work with who was a lesbian, but she used to be very in your face about it, almost like defensive. She had rainbow everything - almost zealous in nature. I couldn't get why she was so angry if she was supposed to be proud of what she was. It's not like I covered my car in stickers of penises. Calm down lady!!

Not uncomfortable at all! I think gay people get such a disgustingly bad rap. AND I think they should be able to get married legally!

Re: Another controversial question..
I went to F.I.T. and it wasnt always known as 'Fashion Institute of Technology' (if ya get what I mean). Guys and gals from all walks of life attend that school. Its like going to the Village Halloween parade every day. I loved every minute of it !!
and the gay guys WERE the BEST to be around ! I adored them and they were a blast to go out with.
I went away many times with clubs I belonged to there. and we were always this big crowd of rowdy girls DYING to meet a straight guy , so we were like MEN magnets , well once we were turned away from a frat party because our 'girl leader' was our dear friend who was the first guy to wear a dress on the runway at F.I.T. fashion shows... the guys at the frat party, were like 'uhmmm we're packed, cant let anymore in'
we had a blast that night anyway! they told us to come back later (without our buddy) but we said NO WAY ! you take us ALL or nothing !

Absolutely not! We have friends who are gay and have been comitted to each other for 5 years, it's like going out to dinner with just another married couple.

Re: Another controversial question..
I should hope not since a couple of my friends are gay - I would lose one or two people I really trust and respect.
To me - I really don't see any difference between the color of your skin, or being gay, or religion you are - honestly I only care about a persons character and their personality - HOW they chose to live their live is their choice as long as it doesn't hurt me - I value more what a person has inside and how they share that then by what person they date, marry etc.
In fact - the very idea that they have different views and ideas to bring to a friendship is actually a bonus often - when you spend time with people who are exactly like you it can be boring - I like to have people around me with different backgrounds, views, and opinions - or life can get boring

Not at all. In fact, I so dont care that I often forget about it entirely.
But to be honest, I dont think anyone is going to announce that they are homophobes on this site anyway. So I dont think controversy is going to erupt.

Re: Another controversial question..
stef...good point...
I look at each person as an individual...be the person black, white, Jewish, gay, Arab, Asian...etc...etc... a friend is a friend and an a$$hole is an a$$hole

yabbobay...you are so right...the color of your skin or your religous/sexual background doenst exempt you from being a jerk!! A jerk is a Jerk no matter what!!

Re: Another controversial question..
I would never want anyone telling who I could love so I don't feel it is my place to tell anyone else. My sister is gay and my family loves and respects her no matter what. With all of the hate in the world, why should we stop people from love? And to those religious people who swear it is wrong or against God, since God is love I believe that God also made all kinds of love for us to share. Anyone who promotes hating a group of people goes against everything God stands for.
