Another dilema....

Another dilema....

My videographer is interviewing the 2 head tables at the reception, however, my FMIL is insisting that she will sit with her friends, and run over when the video guy comes over. I always invisioned my wedding to have two head tables, plus me and my FH, How do I handle this situation??? Yikes!

Your FMIL is kidding right???? What is the big whoop! Tell her that she will be sitting at the FAMILY table & that she can go talk to her friends during the reception. Who's more important to spend time wth at your Sons wedding her friends or her family. I would tell your Fi to talk o his Mother. I still don't get why people live to stress us out??? We have enough to worry about. I hope this helps!! GOOD LUCK!!

Ok. I read this wrong before. I thought you were upset if she went to visit another table. She is refusing to sit at the table you want her to sit at. Tell her that you would like her to sit at a particular table and that the videographer will be interviewing. I'm sure she will go along with your wishes. After that point, she can get up and go visit her friends later.

No she is totally serious, and the kicker is that we are paying for the whole wedding ourselves!!!

I think its terrible that she isn't just agreeing to whatever you want.

But this seems like something not worth fighting over. Tell the videographer to make sure your FMIL is warned before the interviews.

I would not even discuss it with her. Put her at the head table. End of story! Especially since you are paying for it.

I agree with everyone else, it is your wedding, you dont need the extra aggravation, have her sit at the head table, she will have more than enough time to visit with her friends.

Re: Another dilema....Let her do what she wants

Good Luck with this woman in the future...It's not easy with MIL's like that...This is the tip of the iceberg my dear. I wouldn't push it, let her sit where she wants to, I know it's your day and blah, blah, but when the smoke clears she is still going to be your MIL so don't ever let her use that against you. Advise: Always come out smelling like roses!
