FH and I LOVED NRC at first sight. We love love LOVE it. But the combination of price and high minimum is too much for us. We need someplace with either a lower price or a laower minimum for a saturday night. ANy thoughts?
We looked at riviera and really didn't like it. It was TOO small, and they really didn't seem to want our bsuiness as much as NRC, where we were treated like royalty.

I don't really know. I loved that it was airy and elegant but also laid back, I lvoed the big windows, i lvoed that it was one wedding at a time. i loved the cocktail hour room. it was alos roomy and elegant (which can be rare). I loved how it was quiet and private, nd I really liked the service they gave us there, even just looking

Have you looked at Louis XVI? It always looks so amazing from the pictures and i know it is a smaller place so the minimum can't be too high.

yeha it pretty much has to be a sit down dinner on a saturday night...maybe I'm asking too much and I'm not going to get what i want for the price I want. The price of NRC was ok, bt they wanted me to gurantee 200 and we want to keep it to 150-180. i'd be willing to guarantee 180 if i LOVED the place.

Louis XVI seats 180. That's what i read online at least. hope this helps.
Also, my FSIL is getting married at the Bayview house at Captain Bills. They definitely seat 200 and they will work with you on the minimum. They have tons of windows and i've attended a wedding there before and they did a great job.

Have you told the NRC how you feel?? I have been working with them for over a year, and they have been nothing but supportive.
I would say to them, I would love to have my wedding here. Is there anything you could do for me??
It cant hurt. and if they say there is nothing they could do, atleast you tried.

BTW--do you care what month. I had to guarantee 175 for Sat night in April.

i guarenteed 175 for a sunday night in november. i would ask the NRC to work with you. IMHO, the NRC rocks!
we were there tonite to finalize everything and the service we received was impeccable.

Sounds like you love NRC so I would go back and try to work something out with them If not I would DEFINITLY try Thatched Cottage.. I was there for FeliciaDa's wedding and it was AMAZING!!! Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous and the food and service were top notch. Its also a smaller place so I am sure the min. is much lower.

NRC is amazing isn't it. However, I went to the Watermill Sunday and it's very similar in price and atmosphere, outside cocktail hour, flowers, fountains. The astor room was their smaller room upstairs and it was beautiful. The price was the same as the NRC but the min. was lower. I believe it was 140. They were kinda weird about the start times though but they were willing to work with you. However, just like myself, I fell in love with the NRC and even though the FHubby wanted to look at other places to be sure all I did was compare and wind up wanting to go back to the NRC. Try the Stewart Manor Country Club. (www.stewartmanor.com) Our October reception was there and we totally loved it!!! We paid $65pp for a Sunday nite. We had 220 people and it didn't feel cramped at all. The minimum is 100. Speak with James. He was great to work with.
