Another HM ? Hotel ?

I was looking at websites for a few hotels in Jamaica and wondering if anyone could tell me anything about them:

Whitehouse Hotel, Jamaica
Sandals Grand Ochos Rios, Jamaica
Four Seasons Nevis, West Indies

If anyone has been there and has any thoughts or advice I would really appreciate it!!

Also, anyone who has been to Jamaica for vacation, what did you think? Was it safe?

I've heard amazing things about Four Seasons in Nevis! Probably a lot pricier then Jamacia but that would be my choice. :) We almost went there ourselves but were unsure about hurricaine season
I was in Jamaica for just a day off a cruise a few years back and did not feel safe at all!! I've heard though that you would never know it if you don't leave the resort so it depends if you want to taste the local flavor or not...

Ive been to jamaica like 4xs,,, My fav place, althought ive never been at any of the hotels u are asking about,,

Ive stayed at Breezes runaway bay
& breezes montego bay,

Montego bay stunk

runaway bay was awsome.

its safe as long as u stay within the resorts , hoonestly ther isnat anyreason not to , most resorts have all inclusve that u wont wanna leave,,

We stayed at Sandals Montego Bay, but if we ever go back, we are staying at Sandals Negril. The place is awesome! Sandals is definitely the way to go. Sandals Montego Bay was nice.........but Negril was a lot newer, it had a much nicer pool!

I would highly recommend Jamaica, the beaches are the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The hotels are safe, and the excusions that we took, organized by Sandals, were safe. We never went off on our own.

We did a one day excursion to Ochos Rios and climed Dunns River Falls which I highly recommend. Our other excursion was Negril, where we were able to jump off 40' cliffs and watch the sunset in this beautiful area called 'The Caves'. That was my favorite day. Both excursions allowed us to have lunch at Sandals hotels (that's where we fell in love with Sandals Negril).

The food and drinks are great at Sandals, the bartenders are all so much fun, they seem to just love their jobs!

I cannot wait to go back to Jamaica, my husband and I talk about it all the time.

Thanks ladies I appreciate all the advice. We are leaning towards Jamaica, FH wants to see Bob Marley's house So, he has made up his mind, but I am still thinking.

Dunn's river was great I can't wait to go back

I've been to Jamaica twice. Once to Montego Bay, the other to Ocho Rios. I loved Jamaica. I ventured out of the hotel without a tour and was fine. It's probably not 100% safe but nothing happened to me. Everyone tries to sell you pot but that's really all. Jamaica is really fun and if you decide to go there, you'll have a great time!

i have been to Jamaica 3 times .. and the last time was the 1st time FH and I went on vaca .. we stayed at Superclubs Runway Bay (very nice) we climbed Dunns River Falls (highly recommended) FH just said lets go back to the same place for our HM .. sorta like where it all began for us .. awww
so i think we are def going to be going to Jamaica for our HM ... i think it is completely safe ..

I also have been to Breezes Runaway Bay and it was the best vacation!!! It was sooo much fun, there was so much to do, there's something for everybody. I also agree that you are 100 % safe as long as you stay on the resort. Have fun!! HTH

as far as the hurricane fears, we just booked a sandals resort for our honeymoon...we read on the sandals site that if a hurricane does come and disrupts your ability to partake in the resort's full services for one day (or more) they will give you a FREE replacement trip for the same length of stay regardless of how many days were actually disrupted (not including airfare)...we were thrilled and almost wishing for a hurricane!
