At this rate we'll never book anything but I was throwing aorund the idea of Greece.... I figured I could help their economy ... Who has been there, any recs on where to stay and what to do???
How have you people decided on what to do???? Are your bosses being generous with time off for the wedding??? Mine is giving me the hardest time about taking even 2 weeks off. AHHHHHHHH.

That's probably the part of our cruise that we're most excited about
My agency is being wonderful about it. But I very rarely take time off, so they know this is a once in a lifetime thing. I'm taking a total of almost three weeks off between days before and after the wedding, and the HM.

I'd love to go there and I hate to be a downer but I think a lot of the country shuts down in oct. I looked into it for my hm and santorini and mykenos were closed. Granted you're getting married 3 weeks before me so it could be an end of the month thing.
My bos is being slightly ok with the vaca time as long as I don't take advantage of it.

Fh and I knew that we wanted something tropical and we've heard so many great things about St. Lucia so it wasn't too hard to decide. I basically just told my bossd that I need 3 weeks off for my wedding, no asking here! lolol. I know it won't be a problem though, they are great with time when it comes to people getting married.

i went to greece last summer after taking the bar. we did athens for a day (don't need more than a day but you shouldn't go to greece without seeing the parthenon, acroplis, etc). we then went to naxos which is little less touristy than the other destinations so i loved that. last stop was santorini. my one suggestion there is - DON'T CHEAP OUT. we stayed at a crappy hotel in firo stefani. santorini was not the beautiful experience it's supposed to be bc of it. you MUST stay in fira (which means you must dish out the money for one of those hotels).

We looked into Greece for our HM and it wound up being REALLY expensive. The way to do Greece is definitely a cruise, which is way more affordable, but unfortunately there were no good cruise departure dates around our wedding date. If you want more info feel free to FM me - we literally sat with a travel agent for over 2 hours hashing out all of our options.

We're doing Mykonos, Santorini, and Athens for our honeymoon. I booked through a travel agent and we're staying at the following hotels: Royal Myconian in Mykonos, Ira Hotel in Santorini, and the Royal Olympic in Athens. She planned a friend of the family's honeymoon last year and they loved it so we're copying their trip to a t. It is he!!a expensive, but I figured when else am I going to have an excuse to take a ridiculous vacation like this?! I'm happy to answer questions after we come back in just a few months! :)

We went to Greece.
Athens was my least favorite. It was just like city with some cool architecture. I mean, personally- if you don't go there, you aren't missing much.
Santorini was our favorite. So beautiful. If you decide to look into it, check out hotels in Oia. Fira was cool for shopping and stuff, but Oia was stunning. Let me know if you have any questions.

i love greece obviously, but not to be a debbie downer it wont be that good in october.... a lot of hotels close during off season, all the crowds have left the islands mostly just locals left during that time, plus it wont be that hot
