Sooo I'll set this one up by saying that FH and I are interfaith (I am Jewish, he is Presbyterian). We are getting married at the RH by a Rabbi in an interfaith ceremony. We are both active in our respective faiths.
We have been pretty attatched to Psalm 118:24 which is 'This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice in it and be glad.' My mom said that whenever she thought about the wedding she thought about that passage and since then we've sort of had it as a little wedding theme.
I kind of wanted to put that passage at the top of our invitations...but I'm worried that it will scare off people who are not religious. Thoughts??

I like it... i dont think its a very low key statement as far as religion goes.. im not religious and i dont have a problem with it at all, nor would it put me off....

Re: Another invitation question
It's a nice idea and I'm all for passages and quotes, but JMHO, I'd be a little freaked by a religious passage on the invite.

Re: Another invitation question
It does sound religious but if I received that as an invitation, and me not being religious, I wouldn't find it weird or be turned off at all. If you guys like it and it's important for you to have on your invitation go for it!

I dont think you are going to 'scare' people off. I am far from being religious and I think its a very nice passage.

Re: Another invitation question
I am super unreligious (but I still love Christmas and have a nativity scene which makes my mom nuts since she is religious) and God won't even be mentioned in my ceremony... And honestly I wouldn't be scared off at all. When I get a wedding invitation I know it is representative of the couple and has nothing to do with me.

Well since its from Psalms its technically Jewish...the Old Testament being our bible and all lol....
...that's not a bad idea about putting it on the programs instead though...I might like that better than on the invitations Thanks!!
