No you are not wrong.
This is the way it should look. I think everyone will know why FMIL name is on there and hers isn't.

You're not wrong. The way you have it is the proper way.

Re: Another invite dilema

if you wanted to make your mom happy, take out the 'mr' and 'mrs' anywhere on the invite.

my invites say:

fred and ginger rogers
invite you to
blah blah blah

you could do that if you wanted to.

i do that bc my parents are separated, but not divorced, and even though FH and I are paying for it, they wanted to be the 'hosts' which was fine with us.

we don't mention names of FH's parents on it because so far they've taken little to no interest at all in our wedding.

I had a weird family issue too. My parents are divorced and mom and stepdad are paying but not dad & stepmom, and not FMIL & FFIL.

We worded our engagement announcements to say:

Mrs. C. K & Mr. H. XXXX
and
Mr. & Mrs. XXXXX
are pleased to announce...

Tina
and
James

son of Mr. & Mrs. XXXX

but the invites will not have his parents names. I'd rather leave my dad off too but also want to keep peace in the family. Also, some of dad's side don't know mom's new last name. Don't want to confuse them all!
