Another invite question
Dumb question, I know, but here it goes... We are inviting approximately 180 people to our wedding and a majority of them are couples. How many invites should I order?? Will I be safe with 100? Or do I need more?? Thanks....

YOu should always have about 15 or more extra. You will need them. You don't want to be short otherwise it will cost an arm and a leg to order them again. We ordered 150 and we invited 240 people (we ended up having about 20 left over.
For the extra $20 now, I'd order the next 25. You can let your kids play with them in 8 years. It costs an arm and leg to order extra later. Better safe then sorry. And think about the bride whose invites came back because of postage and they were left in the rain, you'd be able to resend them.
If you split your amount in half - excluding singles you are already at 90. I would do 125. (I think they comes in 25 quantities) Just to be safe. If you are short it will cost alot more to order just a few.... JMO
Translation of 'an arm and a leg' usually means you could be paying as much as your original order just to get an extra 25 later on. That's what my invitation lady told us. The printing companies charge you as if it is a brand new order. I ordered 25 extra which worked out great because although we did not have a 'B' list, we did add some co-workers after we started getting some 'no' responses & if we didn't have those extras, we would have been screwed.
193 guests and only 89 invites going out...we ordered 100 invitations
Always ordr 25 more with the original order. I didn't and had to pay 'an arm and a leg' for a stupid mistake. So please heed my advice and go fo the extra 25 invites, you will be happy you did. Also what if an invite gets lost and you have to resend it?
