Does anyone know Massapequa Park? What about just Massapequa? Schools? Other points?
Thanks for all your help. We really need to narrow down the search.

Re: Another LI town Q - Massapequa Park
We saw some houses a few blocks north of Sunrise Highway and we saw a really nice one right off Merrick Road, near Marjorie Post park but it was too small for us. We actually really want a high ranch.
Is Mass Park/N Mass the same school district?
Thanks.

Massapequa Park is an incorporated village (read - more in taxes). It is a different school district than North Massapequa. I loved in N Massapequa and I think I was in the Plainedge school district. MAssapequa Park, I think, is park of the Massapequa school district.

Liz, my brother lives in Massapequa Park. Its a really nice town. They also made sure they didnt buy in the Farmingdale SD. Theyre a great bike trail/park (they call it the preserves i think) right behind their house. They love it.

I've lived in Massapequa all my life. Massapequa has a very good reputation for there schools. FH is really determined to find a house there b/c of there schools. Right now we're in an apt in N. Massapequa. Be careful if u look in N. Massapequa b/c it can be confusing the way it's broken up w/ the schools. Some go to Mass schools, some to Farmingdale and some to Plainedge. FH and I love the Mass Pk area so thats probably where we'd look. I grew up south of sunrise which was also very nice too. The town is really a good one! GOOD LUCK!

I also grew up in Massapequa.. went through all the schools there and they are amazing- very good. Not only are the academic programs very strong- they have strong sports, drama, music and art too which are all very important to a well-rounded education.
I grew up South of Sunrise just East of Seaford. I had a great childhood.

I grew up in Massapequa also - went to all of the schools....it is a terrific area to grow up in.... School district 23 is where I went that is supposed to be better than N. Mass./Planiedge/Farmingdale. Mass and Mass Park are the same school district. I grew up south of merrick road in a neighborhood called nassau shores.

Massapequa Park is a great area. I actually just moved from there about a month ago, but I loved it!! Great neighborhood, good schools, great people and by living in the village of Massapequa Park you can park in the Massapequa Park train station parking lot. The lot is reserved for 'Park' residents only so if you are going to take the train thats a great perk.
Good luck.

I have cousins that live in Mass. Park, on Broadway, right off Sunrsise. They are really happy there, and the commute to the city is great.
