I am laughing because she truly is funny, and such a sweet heart.. but very BLUNT

My mom really wanted to do Godiva chocolates.. the boxes are so pretty..

My FMIL wants to do Small totes, with a new york times, bagels, and personalized tea/cofees, and some water.

I told my FMIL about the godivas ans she said

'no offense, please don't take this the wrong way, but I've been to a lot of weddings and the chocolate thing is OLD'-- I took no offense to it, but my mom would, so I didn't mention it to my mom..

My mom isnt' going to like the tote idea, but I do, I think it's cute.. LOL.. this is getting funny..

What do you guys think???

OK, I would like CHOCOLATE IN A TOTE!!!!! Just to be difficult. The water seems a little random to give in the tote. It seems like more the bags for out of town guests. Are most of the guests from out of town? If they are all New Yorkers, it probably wouldn't mean as much (and I can't see the bagel staying too good--probably made the morning of the wedding; by the time they leave it would probably be hard). Or how about a box of Krispy Kremes? Yummmm Krispy Kremes

Both are great -- why not compromise (WOW, the totes are a real bargain!) and put chocolate with the stuff your FMIL wants?

I think the tote is really cute and would be perfect for a hotel welcome bag. I think the chocolates are better for a wedding favor.

OK, I didn't read all the responses, but I like
the tote! They remind me of the Oscars ( on a smaller scale of course!)
and yes, chocolate is really commonlately, but Godiva is always a classic.
