Another MISERABLE day of house hunting

So we looked at a couple of houses today and while there was one i LOVED!!! it had a GREAT kitchen, brand new,. new baths (2) all beautifully tiled.. and beautiful hardwood floors through out.. half finished basement with bath.. 4 bedrooms.. and the property size is 65x146.. the yard was HUGE... it had a beautiful deck.. i love this house.. unfortunatly this house was on a main road.. NORTH Jeruselum ave to be exact.. and I would never be able to have my kids riding their bikes or even go in the front without being a total WRECK.. if the dogs ever get out I dont even want to think of what could happen...

Also this house started listing at over 400K and its now down to 359K... im afraid what the resale would be like in a few years.. so sadly we walked away..

Went to a few more, one house was so small I thought I was in TINY TOWN.. it actually had 1 bedroom and the second floor was so small that frank had to duck..

This is TERRIBLE.

Suzanne I am sure you are sick of hearing it, but I am sure that you will find something and it will be the right house for you. I'm so sorry that you are having a tough time.

Suzanne, that was the right thing to do, my girlfried bought a house on a main road many years ago 'Great House, Great Price' she said and the past 8 years all she does is complain that the kids can't ride in the street or walk to there friends house alone.

I always see great houses on main roads and tell myself that older people or people without kids live there. I couldn't do it!

You will find something soon!

I feel your pain. We've been house hunting on and off for about 2 years now - it's a big rollercoaster of a ride!

Now, to save us time and headaches, I always ask exactly where the house is located before we even see it. At least where we're looking, any decent house that's affordable is cheaper for a reason - being on a main rd, backing up onto strip malls, etc.
Doing as much legwork on the phone with the RE agent pays off in the end with narrowing down what you want.

Hang in there

I know it's easier to hear than to do but don't give up. Your dream house is out there and you WILL find it

I am sorry Suzanne, I totally know how you feel. We housed hunted for about 1 1/2 and it was so frustrating for us.

First, we were going to build a house and the whole deal fell through. We finally found a house in the school district we wanted and it is big enough for us to grow in. But it was a challenge.

It will all work out, just try to stay positive.

I feel you pain.

Hang in there Suzanne! I also looked at a beautiful house with 3 baths and the master bath had this huge jacuzzi tub. But it was also on a main road and the backyard faced a major route. I felt really torn b/c the house was fantastic on the inside but I was nervous about my future kids playing, and also getting burglarized since my 'private' backyard faced the intersection. You did the right thing.
