What is your favorite makeup? Go to that makeup counter at a department store and have them do your makeup. I had a few bad trials from vendors on this site and then I decided to go to the Stila counter at Bloomies (I love Stila) and I ended up booking the guy that did my makeup there. It was the style of makeup I love, the colors I use, but it just looked a lot more professional then when I do my own. Good luck, I totally know what you are going through - it took me forever to find 'the one'.

I have the same problem. I feel like that make up I have done looks just as good as I could do myself, since i always wear make up. I have a trial on Tuesday with Mia from Bridal lounge. I will post pics so you can see. I hope she blows me away otherwise I dont know what to do.

I have the opposite problem. I never wear makeup and every time i put some on I think it looks like too much. Luckily my makeup artist is my sister, since she works for Clinique. I def suggest going to the counters and have them put some makeup on you, most counters will have someone that will do day of makeup.

Re: Another m/u trial disappointment
Just a thought - if you guys are so good at your make up, thats awesome - why not just do it yourself and save money? I need someone because even though I wear m/u everyday, I don't wear a lot, and I'm the biggest spaz when it comes to applying it - I am just not confident that it will look good enough to be memorialized on camera forever - if I could, I totally would!!!

thats what i was gonna say too! its easier, and saves a lot of money i ended up doing my own... because i don't wear much, and the trial i had i hated and didn't feel like myself, so i just ended up doing my own... one of my BMs sold mary kay for a little while, so she was there to help, too its defintely worth considering

I did that with Estee Lauder. It just so happened that my photographer recommended her, then went for a trial at the counter (free) and hired her on the spot. She did a beautiful job and I wear a full face of make-up everyday so this was my dilemma too.
Some brides have opted to do their own. I was not one of them.

Have you tried Airbrush make-up, at least you know the make up will last longer than if you did it.
I have had good experiences with Maximus at the Source mall and Anthony Cole Salon in Bellmore, request the owner, Anthony Cole. I have seen him do amazing work on brides. He does the hair as well.

Re: Another m/u trial disappointment
Would you consider doing your own makeup? A couple of my friends of done their own because they hated all of their makeup trials. I was in a bridal party last year, and one of the girls did her own makeup and frankly she looked better than the rest of us

I had the same problem, I've been doing my own makeup since I was 14, so I was really picky. I refused to do my own makeup the day of though, there are just too many things going on for me to worry about if I made one eye bigger than the other.
How many trials have you gone on?

Re: Another m/u trial disappointment
Don't worry. I am going for my 5th trial (yes, I said 5th!!) next week and then I'm in the process of setting up appointment #6.
I too am getting frustrated. No one can get it the way I like it. I like certain things they do, but something's always a little 'off'.
Just keep trying. I'm holding out hope that one of the next 2 I am having a trial with will be perfect.
