Re: Another Myspace question

thank you!!!! I had a 'producer' who is so obviously out of touch edit my press release to include the following (and yes, he is 'King'):

Skin Shakers provides an opportunity for audiences to make discoveries and make connections with new artists and genres, taking risks to unearth skin-tingling new discoveries in unexpected contexts. King likens it to the music and film web-site ‘myspace’, but for the dance and film generation direct to the Purcell.

I was like music and film website???? What planet do you live on????

My brother uses it for music too. He sets up and does promotion for music shows across LI (smaller scale) and he finds bands on myspace and sends out bulletins to let people know about shows.

I couldn't answer that question; I have really not kept myself updated about it.

I don't know if you saw my post on LIF - but I mostly signed up to tell my cousin not to post her 'secrets' on myspace!

I use it for professional networking. A lot of people do that also.

You just have to sort through the junk.

I can appreciate that...but if you had to describe it to someone do you think that's the most common usage of the site? Do you think that's what most people on there are using it for?

apparently it was first started for music networking...but I don't think that serves as a popular definition...

Honestly, it's mostly a half naked teenagers and predators website.

And I would have to agree, I am in the minority to use for another purpose.

Wow, King is nuts!!

And to be honest, this is the first I hear of the words 'music' and 'myspace' together...
