another name change question

so I'm (still) waiting on my marriage license before I go to the dmv to change my last name and address...
I also have to get my own car insurance (DH and I are on our parents)... problem is, because I'm on my parents insurance, my mother had to co-sign for my truck....
how do I change everything into my name?
Does this all have to be done in one day?
What do I do first?
I also have to go to SS right?
do I go there first or the dmv?

urgh.. this is so confusing and such a pain in the rear! I'm about to just keep my maiden name!!!!

I'm clueless on this stuff. so.. help please. is there anything else I have to do?

you can still insure the car under just your name, i believe you can't change car loans or anything once they've been set. i have a car that's co-signed by my parents still, but i have my own insurance, and I didn't need my parents consent to purchase it.

i would also assume you go to SS and the DMV first because the ins. co. will ask you for the information on your current license.
