Another on pets - Who does NOT like dogs

God help me, I can't stand dogs. I sometimes appreciate their cuteness, especially puppies, form a comfortable distance, but not up close. As someone who did not grow up with dogs, I feel like they invade my personal space and I can't stand being licked or slobbered on.

I have many friends who are dog lovers and I feel so bad when they try to send their dogs away from everyone when I am around. Its not like I refuse to be around dogs, but you can tell by my body language that I am uncomfortable.

I don't mind little dogs as much, although I do still dodge any licking.

Anyone else not like dogs????

I don't like them too much either. I can handle a very small one as well. Like a small poodle or yorkie. Nothing any larger.
For some reason dogs love me though... I'll pet them for a sec, but NOOOOO kisses!
And just the other night I petted my friend's dog and she started to hump my leg! I freaked out!
SO-- I don't really care for dogs.

I don't like dogs.
And they seem to always gravitate towards me which makes me extremely uncomfortable.

I hate all animals as pets. I don't want an animal in my living space. I cannot get jiggy with that concept at all.

sorry, I am not a dog lover at all. It may stem from the fact I am highly allergic to all animals, especially dogs, and the fact I went to pet a 'nice little doggie' when I was 4 years old and it bit my hand. My MIL is a dog breeder and has 3 of them, but I still can't get myself to like them, no less want one.

I like them when they are other people's. I do not want them in my house, in my kitchen, in my bed etc. My hubby feels the same way.

Hubby does not like the idea of dogs and people in the same space. He would feed a dog etc, would not hurt them, but he does not want them in our home and neither would I.

Dogs should be outside. They are cute to look at, etc, they help the blind and what not, but they are not my cup of tea. I am not an animal person.

I like both dogs and cats.. but ever since I was forced NOT to have dogs and have cats (since that's all I can get away with in my apartment), I definitely prefer cats now. Never thought I'd say that, but dogs are no longer my 'thing'

I was just over at my FH's aunts this weekend and she has 3 Labs.. I realized I just couldn't take all the barking, and running around, and slobbering on me, etc. Oh sure they are beautiful and so much fun to play with . but not sure I could have a dog again.

FH will probably NOT be happy to hear this (he is a dog lover!)

What's that all about and I hate when people let dog kiss them in their mouths, I don't want to hear how clean their tongues are I don't even want some humans to kiss me, much more dogs, who sniff everything that moves, especially other dogs butts

I agree with all of these posts. I really can't stand animals as pets. I just think that after you touch the pet, your hand is dirty. Some people will play with their animals and then eat! Gross.

And I hate when you go to people's houses and there is dog hair everywhere! And you can't sit without being covered in it. So gross.

I shouldn't say I don't like them but I am afraid of them. When I was little my uncles dog attacked me and I have had a Phobia forever because of it.

I am also allergic!!

Dogs are okay, but some people have dogs that are way too affectionate. I can't stand the slobbering and when they jump on you and follow you everywhere. They can be cute at first but annoying later. Also of course mean dogs who bark at you all the time and all.
